Current Bills in the State Legislature that will impact development across the state including the Lutherville area are:
- SB484 https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/SB0484
- HB538 https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/HB0538
Based on the current language in both bills developers would be able to build any affordable housing (even in high density) within 1 mile of the light rail, metro subway or other heavy rail in the state. If these bills move forward, as written, these developments would be approved without regard for:
- adequate public facilities
- overcrowded schools
- input from local county council/zoning authority
- community input
Please write to your MD State Legislators to oppose these bills.
