Your participation in Baltimore County Council Legislation and State Legislation is needed! 

Upcoming County Council Legislative Sessions & County Council Work Sessions regarding Bill 3-24 (Mixed-Use Development Bill) https://resources.baltimorecountymd.gov/Documents/CountyCouncil/Bills%202024/b00324.pdf 

  • On Monday Feb 5th at 6:00pm is the County Council Legislative Session and Bill 3-24 (Mixed Use Development Bill) will be discussed by the County Council. You may sign up during that day to comment / testify on Bill 3-24 at the end of the Legislation Session. 
  • On Tuesday Feb 13th at 4:00pm there is the County Council Work Session for Bill 3-24. People may sign up during that day to comment / testify on Bill 3-24 at this Work Session. 
  • On Tuesday Feb 20th at 6:00pm is the County Council Legislative Session that the County Council will vote on the Bill 3-24.

Current Bills in the State Legislature that will impact development across the state including the Lutherville area are:  

Based on the current language in both bills developers would be able to build any affordable housing (even in high density) within 1 mile of the light rail, metro subway or other heavy rail in the state. If these bills move forward, as written, these developments would be approved without regard for:  

  • adequate public facilities 
  • overcrowded schools 
  • input from local county council/zoning authority 
  • community input 

Please write to your MD State Legislators to oppose these bills.
